Georgia Ovarian Cancer Alliance Hosts Cabaret V Benefit Gala
Local Songstress Libby Whittemore to emcee exhilarating evening of entertainment
PRNewswire
ATLANTA

Libby Whittemore and her Cabaret cohorts are singing and dancing to help the Georgia Ovarian Cancer Alliance raise awareness and save lives. 580 Georgian women will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer this year.

Cabaret V - an exhilarating evening of food and entertainment will take place September 12, 2005 at 6:00 pm at the Woodruff Arts Center. The evening features performances by Whittemore, star of Libby's, A Cabaret, as well as many other talented Cabaret artists; silent and live auctions; and a dessert reception after the show. Tickets for the Cabaret are $125.00, which covers dinner and the show. Tickets are available at the door, on the GOCA website www.gaovariancancer.org, or by calling 404-255-1337.

"The GOCA Cabaret Benefit Gala is a tremendous opportunity to educate Georgia's women, their loved ones and the medical community," said Whittemore. "There is not a reliable, easy-to-administer screening test for ovarian cancer, which means raising awareness and early recognition of symptoms are vitally important to saving lives."

Out of all Georgia women previously diagnosed with the ovarian cancer, more than 400 will die this year. The most common symptoms include back pain, fatigue, abdominal bloating and/or pain, constipation and urinary frequency. Women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer are at much higher risk of developing ovarian cancer. For more information, please visit www.gaovariancancer.org.
